Soul-Proprietor Mentor Coaches:
Founder: Clive Prout, M.A., PCC
In 1993 I was 32 years old. I was newly married, had a masters degree from Cambridge University, owned a house in the country and was earning over $110,000. My job as a software marketing executive took me all over Europe on an expense account. I was debt free (I had already built assets of over $100K) and enjoying unusual outward success for my age.
On the way, I had found time to backpack across Asia, lead diving trips to the Australian Great Barrier Reef, climb a 20,000 ft. mountain in the Himalayas and spend three summers running barbecue parties on the beach in France.
And yet, under the surface of my outwardly successful life, there were signs that I was killing myself. I smoked and drank too much. I felt angry and stressed at work. Most of the people who worked for me were afraid of me.
Then, in 1997 I had a spiritual awakening. An inner voice told me “This day is the turning point of your life”. I chose to trust that voice and make it true. Just over a year later I had left my high-tech career for a complete break.
This time the adventure was an inner exploration. I went to study with Gurumayi Chidvilasananda in Shree Muktananda Ashram, eventually spending 5 years studying and serving her mission. There, as staffing manager for the ashram, I helped hundreds of people take extended breaks from their careers to practice seva - work as the spiritual practice of selfless service. It was while I was offering seva in the ashram that I discovered my next career as a coach.
I am now an executive life coach, The Sabbatical Coach, one of the top 1200 worldwide accredited by The International Coach Federation as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC). I also train professional coaches for The Coaches Training Institute (CTI), the leading coach training organization.
I live in a beautiful home in the San Juan Islands in the Puget Sound with my partner, Abigail, who is also a coach. We are creating a magical life together and inspiring other couples to do the same. I coach a wonderful group of people, that I am privileged to call my clients. I also travel throughout the US leading workshops for CTI and the Co-Integral Institute.
